Last year, Instagram launched a new form of content – Reels. Instagram implemented these short, up to 60 seconds long videos to compete with TikTok, a platform that gave life to short-form clips. On Reels, just like on TikTok, you can create videos with lip-syncing, apply sound effects, lenses and filters, adjust video speed, make voiceovers, create duets with other Reels (called Remixes), and more.
Unfortunately, Instagram doesn’t have an option to download someone else’s Reels videos on your device, unlike TikTok; however, there are several other ways.
Can You Download Instagram Reels?
To put it simply – yes, you can save Instagram Reels both on your smartphone and a desktop PC. The only thing you should note is that Instagram doesn’t let you download someone else’s Reels in-app as there’s no native functionality for this. However, you can easily download your own Reels right from the app. These will be saved in your smartphone gallery.
The Save button that you see under other creators’ Reels means that you can save the videos within Instagram, and they will be stored in your Saved folder on Instagram.
Instead, you will need to use third-party solutions to do so.
