How to Fix the Sentry Block and Challenge-Related Errors
Instagram has various methods and levels of protection of user information, and many of them are related to account access in particular. If an account is logged in from a new device, an unfamiliar IP address, or an incorrect password/access code is entered several times in a row, it’s considered suspicious activity. As a result, Instagram returns an error, prevents logging in to the account, and requires additional steps to verify user identity.
Some of the most common errors displayed by Instagram in such cases are “challenge_required” and “sentry_block.” They appear both in the official Instagram application and third-party services, such as 4K Stogram. Follow the steps below to fix these errors.
Step 1: Log into your account in the Instagram mobile application.
Once you’re signed in, see if there are any notifications from Instagram. It may require you to confirm the last login attempt was made by you or perform other actions – do as requested.
After that, return to 4K Stogram and check if you can download any posts. In case you can’t, follow the next step.
Step 2: Change your network from WiFi to mobile data (or vice versa).
There is a chance that there were a lot of actions coming from your IP address, and in return, Instagram has limited the activity for a while.
In order to bypass the limitation, you need to change your IP address by connecting to another network – it can be another WiFi (at your workplace, for example) or a hotspot from your smartphone.
Step 3: Wait for some time.
If you don’t have the possibility to change the network or it doesn’t help, you have to wait until Instagram allows to perform actions from your IP address again. It usually takes several hours. The longest waiting period is 2 days.
